20th June 2024:
Kintaline House is spacious and spotless. We felt right at home. Our favourite place was sitting alongside the pond in the evening sun and watching the birds. The kitchen had everything we needed, which was great because we made a lot of our food ‘at home’. Jill provided many suggestions, at our request, that were helpful and highlights of our visit (e.g., drives to take in the beautiful scenery). Her knowledge about the area really helped in our planning and enjoyment of the area.

14th May 2024:
Outstandingly equipped kitchen, as good as you'd have at home, especially key for guests like us who are mad for Scottish seafood. Our host replied to all our enquiries speedily and comprehensively. The house is generously proportioned so there's space for individual privacy but ample scope for comfortable togetherness.
Tips:Always book well ahead especially for ferries but be aware they may be cancelled or changed at short notice so have alternative plans as backup. Can thoroughly recommend dinner and ceilidh (8-10pm) at The View in Oban as an invigorating, thoroughly fun Scottish evening out. A visit to the worldclass Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS) is a fascinating outing for a couple of hours including lunch at their on-site cafe which can tie in nicely with a stroll round impressive Dunstaffnage Castle.

Jill is the perfect host -very quick to respond to any questions. Kintaline house is in a lovely peaceful location. We liked being able to walk from the front door. The house has lots of space to spread out and a very well equipped kitchen for preparing meals and baking.
Tips:We enjoyed visiting some of the smaller islands. You can walk from Kintaline House onto Eriska and do a walk around the island. It is a very short ferry ride over to Kerrera to walk or cycle to Gylen Castle. We walked around the headland on Seil where we saw seals and sea otters. There are many castles to visit in the local area. We could see lots of opportunities for sea kayaking on future trips and cycling.

By far, the best equipped home we’ve ever stayed in! You could easily move in for a month. Very comfortable beds. The location is a few miles from Oban, private, and a nice drive to many wonderful sights. We only had 3 nights here and had to constantly replan our itinerary due to a major storm, but we found no lack of wonderful things to see and do. We would absolutely love to stay here again!!
Tips:The Old Inn in Appin!!! Samphire in Inverary for seafood!!

1st October 2022:
We absolutely loved our peaceful stay at Kintaline House. Jill was so helpful, and ensured that the house had absolutely everything you could need including spices and a huge range of kitchen utensils and equipment which was fabulous as we both cooked a lot during the stay. The rooms were immaculately clean and very comfy, with everything you might need. The house is filled with hundreds of books, perfect for curling up by the lovely fire in the evening.
Tips:The location is perfect, easy to find, very quiet and peaceful, and just 15 minutes easy drive to Oban and the ferryport for trips to the islands. The beach, well stocked local shop, cafe and great walks all in a short walking distance.

27th August 2022:
The Kintaline house can only be recommended. Jill turned out to be an extremely friendly host and she keeps the beautiful house spotlessly clean. The location is good, close to a beach and a short drive down to beautiful Oban. The house has everything you could possibly want, including but not limited to a great welcome package with cheese, milk, eggs and more, fast Wifi, a BBQ including charcoal and all kinds of BBQ tools, a perfectly equipped kitchen, a freezer and a refrigerator, a dryer and a washing machine and so on and on and on. We stayed there for just a week, but enjoyed every minute of it. We certainly hope to be able to return one day.
Tips:The Tralee Fish and Chips shop around the corner serves awesome Fish and Chips.

Kintaline house was the perfect location for our Easter time getaway. The house is situated on an idyllic little farm not far north of Oban and very close to the beach.. Everything was immaculate on arrival and Jill made for a warm and most accommodating host. We would recommend a stay here in a heartbeat.

17th April 2022:
Jill's house is fantastic, as was her welcome and provision of local information. The house was immaculately clean and really well-equipped. The kitchen is ready for just about any culinary experiment, there are games and books galore, and the sitting room area is really comfy. Lovely garden, great views, super bedrooms. We spent a very happy week making ourselves at home.
Tips:Jill is clearly a local expert and very ably recommended days out/meals/walks/activities. We had a good 4km flat walk around picturesque Castle Stalker, which isn't itself far north of the house. One day we drove up to the Glenfinnan viaduct to see the 'Harry Potter' train go across. Check the departure time from Fort William and add about 30 mins, arrive at least 20 mins before the train is due, and walk up to the viewing point. We combined the viaduct trip with trips to Fort William, Ben Nevis (visitor centre only!) and Glen Coe, before a lovely drive home. The distillery at Oban was a good rainy day retreat and an interesting tour. We also visited the Cruachan power station, which is also super - the tour takes you on a bus ride a kilometre into the mountain to see the massive turbines. The (very) local fish and chips hut is great, but everything is cooked fresh so do remember to pre-order: there were some very disappointed customers there who hadn't! We drove down to Seil island, which was super - a taste of more remote (just about) island living. Be careful - there are no places on the island to eat, and the post office/shop isn't always open.

19th December 2021:
The house is super cosy but very spacious and one of the best stocked rentals I’ve ever visited. The kitchen was lovely and had everything we needed. Jill was kind enough to pick up a food shop for us from Oban before we arrived and had also left a lovely welcome pack for us with local products, fresh eggs etc. The fire was lit when we arrived so we couldn’t have asked for a better welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, Jill had really thought of everything we might need. Couldn’t recommend staying here more.
Tips:The house is very well located for sightseeing, restaurants and shopping and also lovely walks straight from the house to the Loch.

3rd October 2021:
We had a lovely stay , the weather wasn't so good so didn't really get to enjoy sitting out in the garden. The welcome pack was a lovely gesture and the fresh eggs and shortbread went down well. Jill, our host was there to meet us when we arrived and showed us around this lovely spacious house. The house was spotless and the log burning fire was great in the evening.
Tips:Oban is not far away, maybeten minutes in the car, you can walk to the beach in about twenty minutes from the house, you just walk through the caravan site along the road and that takes you to the beach . There is even a play park for us big kids to get a go on the zip slide😄. Fort William is another place that is about thirty odd miles away, it's a nice drive, there is a lovely cafe , think it's next to the hardware store( it sells everything from knitting needles to screws), you get a lovely cream scone and tea in there, ( not the cheapest but beautiful).its a beautiful part of Scotland and well worth a visit.

Another fantastic stay, everything catered for, beautiful surroundings and a real home from home! :)
Tips:Recommend heading out to see Seil Island and Easedale for lovely views and history, as well as exploring Isle of Mull. Lovely areas to walk locally. Recommend having breakfast at Poppies Garden centre before exploring for the day. Also thoroughly recommend Cuan Mor restuarant in Oban, delicious fresh seafood dishes!

Beautiful, airy house and garden. Very comfortable and totally relaxing. Jill was really helpful. We loved our stay at Kintaline and would thoroughly recommend it.
Tips:Our highlights: Trip to Kerrera Island Trip to Lismore - we took the pedestrian ferry from Port Appin and hired bikes on Lismore. Lunch at the Gaelic Heritage Centre was delicious. Our best meal out in Oban was at Baab ( Middle Eastern).
