Very welcoming - exceedingly comfortable room with superb views over the water. Loved every minute of our time in Kames. Food was good too and we chose to eat in the hotel every night - as a vegetarian, I was very well catered for.

This was our 5th year staying at the kames hotel and what a change we found this year,under the news owners jimmy and li,they have transformed the place from good to outstanding. Total refurbishment just made our stay even better.thanks again
Tips:Go and visit the sites then come back to the kames eat the best food in the area then enjoy plenty of dinks and laughs with locals

Really enjoyed my stay at the hotel, had a lovely meal prepared quite late at night so many thanks for that and the great Scottish breakfast in the morning. It was a bit cold whilst i was there but the room had a wonderful outlook towards Bute. Hope to visit again in the near future.

We felt that the room was too small for a family of 4/5. The shower room was especially small and a family room should have a bath for children. There was nowhere for us to sit in the evenings. The breakfast room wasn't comfortable for the evening and a residents lounge would be nice. The hotel has great potential and the food was very very good.

This was our third stay at the Kames Hotel and the first with new owners Jimmy and Lily. It was as lovely as ever, and the owners really go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and to accommodate any needs. We stayed in room 4 which was amazing and had 3 great meals at the restaurant. We will definitely be back!
Tips:Definitely eat at the Kames Hotel - food is always good and the specials change regularly! If you want a drive out, we would also recommend the nearby beach and the Oystercatcher restaurant at Otter Ferry.

Tips:There is no parking at the Kames. Off street parking is available on the street. About a 1km walk into the village of Tighnabruich

We had an absolutely fantastic stay and were so delighted with the friendliness of the staff and the high quality of the food and drink we had with you (we had lunch, dinner and breakfast at the hotel and loved every meal!)
Tips:The location is beautiful and this is a great hotel. There aren't really many other places nearby to eat, so you might be a little restricted to the hotel. That being said, the food was fantastic, and the service was great. The proprietors are very friendly and are working so hard to make this the success it is turning out to be!

Tips:No need to go to other restaurants as the food in the Kames hotel is fantastic. Lovely walk from the Kames hotel into Tighnabruaich. Ostel beach is 10 min drive but take wellies as bit boggy but well worth it. Views are amazing and locals are so friendly.

A great stay. The new owners took time to show us around some other rooms and outline their plans for the place. Facilities/Entertainment. The removal or moving aside of the bar pool table to allow space for live music would benefit the hotel.
Tips:Worth upgrading to a Superior room for the sea view. A wonderful ever changing vista to wake up to.

Tips:No need to look further than the Kames Hotel for food. Bring appropriate clothing for walking around the beautiful area. A 10 mile walk round Ardlamont point is challenging, but very worthwhile and rewarding.

we booked this at the last minute as a night away and as it stated that it was dog friendly we were able to take our Jack Russell with us. I would recommend this hotel as from the moment we arrived the staff were very helpful and friendly. We ate in the evening and the meal was excellent food freshly cooked and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was also very good and again freshly cooked. We will definitely be returning and the next time will stay a few days. We stayed in room 4 and the views from this room are stunning.
