Beautiful rooms, amazing service and a wonderful location. Would have no hesitation recommending to other travellers. Lovely continental breakfast too to set us up for a day of sightseeing. Coffee machine in room was faulty (think a pipe just needed unblocking in machine)but that didn’t matter as we had delicious coffee with our breakfast anyways.

You need to pull the leaver forward to operate. I am sorry you had problems using it you should have asked one of us and we would have shown you how to operate or the book is i the drawer.

Decor in room No9 was not as expected and was not to our taste, yellows blues and greys was a bit gaudy, room size and facilities were very good. Crashed car reversing out of car park, no visibility, in hindsight I should have reversed in (perhaps a sign for future customers parking there car)

Park the car facing the sea, reverse in. The Oban Inn great pub open to 12am, then if you want more Markie Dees on the way home in the basement of a peach coloured victorian building hotel is busy and open till 1am

We had another wonderful stay in this lovely/homely guest house. We stayed in an ocean front room (stunning) and would highly recommend you do the same if possible. The views are breathtaking. Paul and Carol are so proud of their business and rightly so. It is spotless, comfortable, peaceful and very well equipped with everything you need for your stay. The staff who clean the rooms (apologies we did not get their names) and serve breakfast are very friendly also and can't do enough to make you feel welcome and well catered for. The location of this guest house is perfect as it is just a short walk into the centre of Oban. If you like otters (like we do), Ollie hangs around the coast nearby and will put on a show if you are lucky. There are lots of walks you can do nearby also. Coast restaurant is an absolute must but we recommend you book in advance as it is so popular. Eeusk and its neighbouring Pizza restaurant were very good also. Very friendly staff and a good selection of food. Trip advisor is good to source different places to visit too.

Very friendly, helpful owners and staff. We were stuck in Oban during the recent heavy rain, all roads were closed in and out, we had no accommodation booked as we had been on the Isle of Mull and our intention was to drive home that day, trying to get somewhere was stressful as everyone was stranded and needed an overnight, Carol was fully booked but took our number, luckily there was a cancellation, Carol rang us and phew, we had a room which turned into a 2 night stay. So relieved as lots of people had to sleep in cars. Would definitely recommend Allvatona, and should we be stranded again they will be our first call.

We enjoyed our stay. We loved the house and its decor and the ornaments that had been collected. It was located a bit further from the town centre than we expected but it meant that it was quiet and had lovely views over the water. The continental breakfast that was served the next morning was very generous and very delicious!! Alltavona House is a lovely place to stay. A short walk to the town centre makes it an ideal base for a stay in Oban. Rooms are beautifully decorated and well maintained. Hostess Megan is a wonderful ambassador for the guest house. Her outgoing and friendly personality puts everyone at ease as soon as they arrive.

Be sure to take advantage of the boat tours and ferries to Mull, Iona, Staffa. The fresh seafood is not to be missed. Restaurants can be very busy so be prepared to book a table or be patient enough to wait for one.

I wish we could have seen the Oban fishing industry 50 years ago but it's still providing good quality local fish. I can especially recommend the scallops. Wandering around the docks was fun and interesting.

Being situated on the shore front, the view is nothing short of amazing - particularly at sunset. What a fantastic location, close to the town centre and the. ISS was amazing.We stayed in room 7 it was beautifully decorated and I would request it if we stay again. The fridge was a bit noisy and I didn’t think it was needed, the space could have been put to better use, maybe by rearranging and adding more hanging space.this didn’t detract from our visit at all.

The views are wonderful, very quiet & very comfortable, because of its location. Do not be put off by walk from the station/pier it is well worth it. Very friendly, very accommodating, and decor was excellent. The continental breakfast is well worth having if not to die for.

The walk further north encounters a number of interesting & unusual features and stunning views. We took a ten day Majestic cruise around the islands & lochs which was absolutely stunning regardless of the weather. The Olive Garden restaurant oposite the station is worth eating in.

A delightful trip back in time to a more luxurious era - but with all the mod cons. Very comfy beds and a huge ensuite bathroom complete with free-standing hip bath. Off-street parking was handy. Congratulations Carol and Megan!

Great fish and chip shop in the high street - excellent traditional fish and chips. The view from the colosseum is sensational - definitely worth the climb (you can drive up if a cardio workout isn't for you).

My stay for four days was ideal. Just like home from home and the view from the breakfast room can not be bettered. Lovely friendly staff. Just hope I am able to pay them another visit

Obviously the Games at the end of August are well worth visiting if you have never been before. Tobermory has a unique Marine Aquarium it is very different and kids will enjoy touching some of the creatures. The boat trips round the island of Kerrera on a calm day are beautiful. A visit to SAMS ocean marine science centre's visitor centre is great for thinking youngsters.

Have stayed here several times and would definitely return. Superb position overlooking the sea. Lovely and friendly staff. Excellent continental breakfast. Our room (number 5) was very comfortable however a couple of minor repairs required—bathroom shelf and ceiling rose.

Alltavona does not do dinner. During the season, advance bookings are a must for most restaurants at dinner time.

The bedroom area was a wee bit cramped, but the bathroom was excellent. Overall very charming B&B. Carol the owner was absolutely the best. She made suggestions that were spot on as to where to visit. She insured our laundry needs were met, saving us much time end bother.

We love the ferry ride to the Isle of Mull, where we took a bus to the model fishing village at Tobermory. Four outstanding fish, we recommend the Fish House and Ee-usk. We had good pub experience at Coasters.

My mum and I loved our top floor room! We loved the decor and design elements with all the flowers and bedding. The antique furniture and fixtures was so quaint and added to the ambiance of the experience staying in the older historic house. Our sleep was comfortable and the included breakfast was nice. It is a pretty decent walk away from the town centre and there is no lift to the upper levels, so keep that in mind if you have issues with mobility and/or carrying luggage up stairs.

Don't forget to catch the lovely sunset from right outside the B&B.

The location is perfect, on the promnade at the quieter end of town with spectacular panoramic views, yet just a just a short walk along the shore to the centre of town where everything is available, including ferries to the islands. The owner & staff are so very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Guests are free to come & go any time of day. Good quality towels & linnen are changed regularly. No surprise that Alltavona is so popular. We stay there quite often.

The staff are allways willing to pass on information on where to visit and can recommend good restaurants, what ever your choice.

Really liked the ease of checking in and out with the key safe. Spoke to Megan twice and on both times she was lovely and very helpful. Room and bathroom were spotless. There were plenty of towels and hot water although the hot water is very hot. Would defo stay again but in a double room this time as my husband is a bit tall for a single bed but as we booked last minute we didn’t think there were any available

I would highly recommend The Oban Fish and Chip Shop. We sat in and the fish was fab. Went to EE-Usk also, food was fine but there was a lot of faffing about at the door dodging people with plates while waiting to be seen to our table. If you get a chance do the Seafari at the Corryvreckan pools. Fantastic experience and we saw lots of wildlife too

Carol and her staff are so helpful and accommodating lots of communication prior to my arrival, I used the self check-in which was great and so handy for me as we had a late ferry! spoke with Carol and added on the continental breakfast in the morning which was amazing lots of fresh fruit ham cheese croissant’s plenty of hot coffee too! Rooms where spotless and with beautiful decor, lots of personal unique touches! Superb! Great check in procedure. Beautifully furnished spotless room with wonderful views and lots of little extras. It is in a perfect location and the hosts go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Alltavona is always my number one choice when staying in Oban, not only because it is so comfortable and welcoming but also as I am often catching an early ferry. The key safe check in procedure is very easy and effective with great communication before arrival. This means that late arrival or early morning departure for a ferry is no problem at all. I also love the fact breakfast is not automatically included in the nightly rate - many times in other establishments I have been charged for a breakfast I can't have because of early departure. Look forward to my next visit.

Alltavona is your home away from home, beyond that the whole house is beautiful. The rooms are decorated with exquisite taste taking care of even the smallest detail, no matter what room you sleep in all are spectacular. Fabulous breakfast with luxurious views of the bay. But without a doubt the best thing is the warmth and hospitality of Carol and her team, which makes you feel like you are arriving at a friend's house. It is the best guest house in Oban without a doubt.

Very friendly welcome from Carol and Megan, they where where hepfull and gave recommendations on places to eat. lovely location, with a stunning view.parking on drive. we where in room 7 which has been newly decorated to a very high standard absolutely gorgeous room. The bed was really comfortable made for a good nights sleep.I loved the gold tiles in the shower, as well as the luxurious shower there was also very deep bath. Perfect to relax in after climbing up to McCaigs tower.Breakfast in the dinning room with sea view sets you up for the day. Easy stroll, along the esplanade to shops and restaurants.Really look forward to staying with you again loved our first visit to Oban.

Nories fish and chips,fresh cooked and tasted fabulous. Ee-Usk look for the red roof on the north pier we had the sea food platterlovely selection. With a champagne cocktail. McCaigs tower steep climb or you could drive upto the car park, but the climb is worth it for the views.then you have earned a ice-cream.lots to choose from . Lots of local crafts and plenty to fill in a few days in Oban

Lovely guest house located in a perfect distance from the city centre. No noise from traffic or the hustle and bustle from city centre activities, yet the centre is easily accessible by foot.

The Cuan Mor restaurant is highly recommended, both for its location on the harbour front and for its cozy atmosphere and great food. The Oban Inn is another must-visit establishment either for a quick pint or a bar meal. And the Oban Chocolate Co carry the most delicious handmade chocolates I've tasted in a long time.

The room had all the amenities you could wish for - fridge, iron/ironing board, coffee table & 2 chairs to enjoy the view. Great location to walk into town.

Book a restaurant even off season but the Fish Box on the promenade opposite the pier served delicious takeaway food. Although there is parking at the property, parking on the promenade is free after 6pm to 9am, if you are worried about being blocked in/blocking someone else in. We had a lovely stay. The breakfast, especially the salmon was really tasty.

The sunset from the The View was worth a drink. The walk along the esplanade and onto Dunollie castle was nice and then onto Ganavan Beach. Care on the road walking, but worth the walk to the beach. WE took the ferry from Port Appin to Lismore and hired bikes. Was a great day, but not as flat as we were told! We took the ferry to Mull in addition. From here we did a wildlife tour from Tobermoray with SeaLife Mull. Fabulous half day in which we saw minke whale/dolphins/seals/purpoises and eagles.

Carol and Paul were wonderful hosts. Very flexible and most accommodating. Alltavona is very specially decorated, with great attention to its victorian structure. Having lived in Bath for 20 years we really appreciated the the great effort it has taken to maintain the grandeur of that era. We would very much like to visit again on some future occasion.

Fish restaurant on the pier, and Coast restaurant in the town. Visits to the various islands. Very good ferry service available. Great self service laundrette at halfway esso station a short distance outside Oban.

A lovely traditional house professionally run by Carol and Paul. Nothing is too much trouble and they go the extra mile to make sure you have a happy and comfortable stay. The house is situated on the esplanade with stunning views and just a short walk in to town. You will enjoy your stay at Alltavona and will return many times - we have.

Oban Inn is a great traditional pub with good food. The isle of Iona is a truly peaceful place and McCaig's tower is worth the climb to the top of Battery Hill for the wonderful views over Oban and the bay.

Alltavona is a gem and you will not meet more friendly, helpful and welcoming hosts in Carol, Paul and staff. Our room was tastefully decorated and clean and cosy with facilities including fridge and an iron. Our breakfasts were complimented by stunning views over the bay. McCaig Tower is worth the steep walk. Norries fish & chips are a must.

We were extremely lucky to find a vacancy at Alltavona at the last moment. The owner and staff are helpful, the rooms are well appointed, the ensuite bath was amazing. We loved sitting in the comfortable chairs at the front of the hotel, facing the water and having a nightcap. So relaxing!

It is an easy 20 minute walk over to the ferry.

Lovely to be back at Alltavona after an absence of about 12 years. High standards maintained as we expected. We did greatly miss the super breakfast nicely served with personal attention in the dining room.

We always enjoy eating atEe-Usk (fish) and Piazza (pizza) on the pier. Booking essential. Get a window seat if you can and watch the sun go down over the harbour and the comings and goings of the boats. Far too much to do in and around Oban to mention here but trips to Mull, Iona, Staffa, Coll, Tiree are fantastic. Kererra, close at hand, is a super walk round too.

You really do need to book tables at any of the nearby restaurants. Oban is very busy in July and August. We liked Piazza on the harbour side and Coast on the Main Street. Food and service good at both.

Alltavona is basically a 10-15 min walk along the pier from the main town centre - lots to experience there from the whisky distillery tour, to sea & harbour excursions and plenty pubs and restaurants to enjoy.

We've been lucky to find that place at the very last moment when everything around was booked already. Nice place to stay, very clean, though a few things in the room need to be fixed. The hosts are great and very welcoming.

The only thing we were disappointed in was we paid for a double room only to find that it was a twin with 2 single beds joined together which meant that I kept falling down the crack. This was perfect night stop on way to Isle of Mull. A nice location on the seafront. Far enough away from port to be quiet and restful but walking distance for shops and bars. Staff were pleasant and helpful and breakfast just right without fuss or formality.

Pity about having a rather limited breakfast in the room. The great breakfasts in the dining room with a view were the highlights of previous visits. To be honest the cramped space, limited seats and very small table made breakfast in room 7 quite difficult - and left crumbs everywhere! Still we got here and it was still good!

Does seem you need to book a table to eat anywhere decent. As usual the walk to Ganavan Sands and back was full of wild flowers, sea birds and good views.

Room 3 was very comfortable, beautifully decorated and furnished if on the compact side but more than enough for our one night stay. Nice to have a fridge in the room. Breakfast was continental delivered to the room with sufficient options for most people catered for, space to eat in the room was a little challenging though. We had a very warm welcome by our friendly hostess and would recommend a short stay here again.

We ate in the Fish House on the pier which was very good. Early evening deal was good value at two courses for £18
